Have you ever been to Oregon? Up until 2001, I had not. I ventured on out there to attend school at PSU, otherwise referred to as Portland State University. The first thing I noticed about this state was all the green. I’ve definitely seen plenty of trees, bushes and grass before, but something was different in Oregon. Little did I know at the time, there were oodles of Portland, Oregon landscaping crews hard at work. Hey, I’m not just saying this. This particular state seemed obsessed with their lawns and greenery. We’re talking sprinkler systems on every patch of grass. I was in for a serious landscaping experience. Is your lawn up-to-par?

Can you imagine a state that invests more in their landscaping than they do their public schools? Well, if one exists, it’s Oregon. Just drive up there and take a gander at all the Oregon landscaping businesses. Then take a good long look at the public school buildings. You will soon see what I mean. I was shocked at first when I saw all the sprinklers come on around me. It was like I was being attacked by the numerous little fountains of water. They knew I was an outsider, and they were surely going to report it back to the Portland, Oregon landscaping committee. Does this sound feasible to you? Okay, so maybe it’s a tad far-fetched, but you get my point about the abundance of sprinkler systems, right? I had only wished at the time that they invested so well in central air. I couldn’t believe that this wasn’t standard in all homes. Where I’m from we all have central air. It’s just part of the home or apartment package. You know, like heat is. Regardless, the infinite lawns were looking immaculate.

I can honestly say that I have no idea why men don’t like to stop and acquire valid directions. It’s a vice that’s eternal in the XY makeup. Oh well. Anyway, things are not exactly the same anymore when it comes to finding your destination. In fact, we all have access to auto navigation systems. These babies are the bomb! I don’t care where you’re headed.

Have you taken a gander at the new age auto navigation systems? I had to have one of these. My older brother got me completely hooked when he brought his over to my place to check out. I was amazed at how accurate they are. You don’t even have to stare at the thing for directions. It talks to you. Heck, quality auto navigation systems even let you know when you’re off route. The first time I took advantage of one was on a long trip from Salem, Oregon to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Let me tell you right now, that is one seriously long trip. Although you may think it’s a blast, it can get rather hairy to say the least if you’re traveling with your family.

Regardless, auto navigation systems will make the journey much more enjoyable. You basically just program your destination in the device and it takes over. Once it has your address, it will use it’s antenna to pinpoint your current location. Then it will begin routing. Simply mount the auto navigation system in your vehicle and take off. It literally tells you where to go every step of the way. How awesome is that! You will never get lost again. So far my wife and I have used auto navigation systems on a number of occasions. They’re not just for traveling a long distance you know. Take advantage of auto navigation systems whenever you please. It will save you oodles of time, effort and frustration.
