Stuck On Political Stickers

With elections rapidly approaching this fall, the bashing advertisements and political stickers are beginning to pop up everywhere. I wish that for once, a candidate would focus on telling me about themselves other than about what their opponent has done wrong. Duh, like I can’t figure that out on my own. What I’m interested in hearing about is what they want to change in the world. Stop bashing each other, we’re not in high school anymore. Come to think of it, it is more like elementary school.

My neighborhood seems to be an even mix of Democrats and Republicans. I know this because they all seem to have their front yards decorated with political signs. When a new one appears, a neighbor has to also get another new one. It makes it easy for me to find my house since mine is the only yard that doesn’t have any signs in it. One of my neighbors, who has quite a reputation as being a political guru has decided that decorating his brand new car with political stickers was a great idea. Why someone thinks that having political stickers all over their cars will influence my vote is beyond me. Political stickers do nothing but annoy me. But hey - if you want to peel those annoying political stickers off of your car after the election is over, be my guest.

I’m still getting a kick out of seeing political stickers from the last presidential election remaining all over cars. Especially those who clearly lost the elections. But, that’s their problem, not mine. I have to ask all of the politicians out there, why even have political stickers made? I suppose that I understand the signs for people’s yards and the flyers that are passed out. I even have a bit of respect for the commercials that are shown on television, though I suggest you stop bashing one another and start focusing on yourself. What I just don’t understand is why you spend your campaign money on printing political stickers.

Obviously, there are people out there who are ridiculous enough to put them all over their vehicles but seeing someone with political stickers all over their bumpers isn’t going to sway my vote. I realize that you simply want your name out there and to have it continued to be fresh in the minds of your voters, but enough is enough. Instead, focus on something else. Do more in the community to get your name out there. Don’t rely on such petty and annoying things like political stickers. For someone like me, tell me why I should vote for you. Don’t make me stare at any more political stickers.

Consider All The Factors In Buying A Retirement Home

As people get older they usually have the ability to expand the possibilities of where they live. This is due to time freedom if they are no longer working and financial freedom through their pension plans. It is usually during this time that people start considering retirement homes. Today, with the increased population of older Americans, there are many options and opportunities for retirement homes, to keep up with the changing demands.

Most cities across the Untied States offer some type of adult community development. They range in price, services and amenities. Some of the developments offer retirement homes that include membership to an exclusive golf course. The golf course developments are perfect for the avid golfer because if you live in the development there are usually no green fees. This allows for daily golfing. These developments usually offer patio homes that are located throughout the golf course, so the settings are beautiful and quite private.

Another popular option for retirement homes is high rise condominiums. This option works best for people that do not want any yard work. Most adult condominiums offer a variety of activities both on and off site for residents to take part in. The resale values of the condominiums are good so this is a sound investment. The condominium options are very popular so they are available in most areas. For people that want to have multiple retirement homes the condominium is a great option because they are secure and maintenance free. Some people will rent out their condominiums when they are not living in them, to help defray the cost. It is important to check with the condominium association to make sure this is allowed.

Many people choose one level floor plans in their retirement homes so they are accessible to walkers, canes and wheel chairs. Even if the person is not using a walking aid themselves’, it is likely that their friends may need the accessibility. Some people will be thinking of retirement homes as they travel for business or pleasure in preparation for retirement years. This is important especially if you are thinking of relocating to a different state for retirement. Spend time in the new location prior to buying so that you are certain that the area is a good choice for you. You do not want to purchase a retirement home in an area that you have not spent time in because you will not know if the amenities fit your needs, or if the weather patterns are what you are looking for. Spend time talking to others that live in the community you are planning on joining. It is important to know if outsiders are welcomed and that people are accepting of you. As with any major decision the more homework and research you do the better the chance that you will make a sound decision. Retirement homes are a large investment and it is important to consider as many factors as possible prior to purchasing one.
