Save Time And Energy With Laundry Hampers

We have been trying to organize our household routine so that we have more time on weekends to have fun rather than clean and do laundry. My children are good at following through on chores that are assigned to them. They are also learning to do their own laundry. One of the things that I am going to remove from each bedroom is the laundry hamper.

I have found that the laundry hamper is more work to use and takes up space in the rooms. I realized one day when I was washing the family’s clothes that the laundry hamper was adding to the time I was spending. As I went into each room I needed to dig in the laundry hamper to remove the clothing. I then needed to transfer the clothing into a laundry basket to carry it to the laundry room. Over time the closed laundry hamper can get a musty smell. I decided that it would be much more efficient to keep a laundry basket in the bottom of everyone’s closet. This way I could just grab the basket and go, I would not be digging clothes out of the smelly hampers.

I went to the store to purchase additional wash baskets. The large plastic baskets come in a variety of colors. I bought a different color for each of my children. This way when the laundry is completed I can separate the children’s clothes into their basket while folding. This system is working very well. I do help my youngest put her clothes away otherwise I found that she would throw her dirty clothes on top of the clean ones in the basket. By eliminating the laundry hamper I have a more useful system and the baskets do not take up any more space than the hampers did.

We still have a laundry hamper in the bathroom for towels. I still have not decided the best way to deal with this. I do not want an open wash basket sitting in the bathrooms, but I do not like having to dig through damp towels to transfer them from hamper to basket. I will have to check with the bed and bath store. It seems that they have so many things to help organize the home.

We are now rotating the trips to the grocery store to include one child at a time. This helps the children learn how to grocery shop and it also helps to have another person to help gather items as well as bag and carry. This is another time saver in completing routine items around the house.

Had It With Stains And Plops? Steam Cleaners

Do you have little rug rats ripping and tearing aimlessly about your home? They tread in every room they can. I think it’s just to leave their mark. Well, at least that’s the case in my home. My daughter never fails to make some kind of mess in every room. Yes indeed, this is rather irksome to say the least. I try and try to get her to play outdoors, but it doesn’t always fly. Therefore countless stains and shoe prints are inevitable. So, do you still want children? Anyway, the real question is, how do you deal with all the spills, plops, smears and tumbles? You could replace your carpet every time you acquired a new mess. Or maybe you want to have a professional come in once a week to buff out those hideous food, drink and dirt stains. While those options may certainly sound ideal, they could get rather pricey to say the least. In the real world, most of us parents have to figure out ways to clean up those infinite messes on our own. Luckily there are a number of quality steam cleaners on the market these days.

What have you heard regarding steam cleaners? Do you consider these magnificent machines the sole property of the dry cleaners? Well, in this day and age, there is a decent array of home steam cleaners you can purchase. One of the bigger names is Hoover. My wife and I made the prudent decision to buy a quality Hoover steam cleaner vacuum when our daughter was born. It just seemed like an inevitable purchase. I had always heard that with children come a whole lot of stains. I can now honestly state that the previous parents were indeed correct. My daughter makes a new mess on the carpet nearly every day. Now, it’s not like we haven’t asked her to be more careful, or simply instructed her not to eat in the living room. We’ve done it all, but somehow we’re always acquiring more stains. The good news is that with the contemporary steam cleaners of now, you can polish 99 percent of those stains out. I’m sure there are exceptions, but I haven’t encountered any yet. I will state that coffee is among the worst.

Are you browsing for steam cleaners? A great place to start your search is Best Buy. This electronics superstore actually carries a variety of carpet cleaners as well. From vacuums to steam cleaners, Best Buy has it all. Also, browse the World-Wide-Web for a wonderful selection, where you can find quality steam cleaners at various price ranges.
